DOES GOD EXIST?

We have all pondered the question of the existence of God at least once in our lives. There are many reasonable and sensible arguments for God’s existence. Numerous famous geniuses, including Copernicus, Isaac Newton and Aristotle, believed in God. The person officially recognised as having the world's highest IQ is a Christian. In fact it has been proposed, that atheism requires more faith, due to its lack of evidence.

The Catholic Church has been a driving force for modern science. Given that the Church has always considered God as the divine author of the universe, the Church has supported scientific pursuit as a way of coming to know God.

You may have been told the common myth that science and faith are opposed to each other however, the Church has been the greatest supporter and longest standing patron of science and technological development. Some have even suggested that the Catholic Church should be considered as the Mother of Modern Science

It is therefore not surprising, that numerous instrumental scientists and inventors have been devout Catholics. Here are just a few of them.

FAITH IS NOT OPPOSED TO REASON

The Catholic Church proclaims that humanity can come to know the existence of a personal, loving God “with certainty… by the natural light of human reason”.
(Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 36).
